Learning Specialists

Learning Specialists are highly-trained professionals with a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Education (most typically have a master’s degree), a state teaching license, and experience in assessing and treating students with a variety of learning differences by working one-on-one with students to develop compensatory strategies for any learning deficits. These learning differences include:

Dyslexia - learning disabilities in reading

Dyscalculia - learning disabilities in math

Dysgraphia - learning disabilities in writing

Oral / Written Language Disorder and Specific Reading Comprehension Deficit - affect an individual’s understanding of what they read or of spoken language

Non-verbal learning - significant discrepancy between higher verbal skills and weaker motor, visual-spatial and social skills
